This is the end of “Week #4” and I can’t believe how fast it went by. Now I’m going to be starting month #2 on this new lifestyle and fitness journey. I have to admit that making better choices when it comes to my diet has become easier. Seeing the progress I have made helps a lot, which is why it’s important to be consistent. I thought it would be beneficial to share a guide for beginners on how to get started in this journey, so let’s begin…

How Should I Work Out?
This is different for every individual but 4-5 X a week for at least 30 minutes is what’s recommended. Allow your body to heal and rest in between work outs, and as your level progresses add more time or weight. I highly recommend to make a gradual progression rather than to overload your body.

Join A Gym

Having an exercise routine is essential to women’s health and fitness. I suggest signing up for a gym if it’s in your budget. The way you feel a commitment to go a certain amount of days, to make up for the fee you will pay monthly.

Common Exercise Mistakes
One of the main reasons I always gave up on my fitness journeys is due to the lack of results. If I would have known the mistakes I was doing every single time I could have being fit years ago.

Boring Routines – Your body adapts to routines which is why change is a must.

Lack Of Planning – Have a CLEAR GOAL and create a routine that supports that goal. If you can’t create a routine alone find a trainer or join 3S Fitness.

Unrealistic Goals – Don’t expect to lose 5 pounds a week, 1 or 2 pounds a week is realistic. The faster you lose the weight the faster you gain it, and who wants that?

Envy – Every woman is unique and therefore we should only focus on ourselves. Don’t compare yourself to others who have being doing this for months.

Re-Think Your Diet
I can’t stress enough how essential it is to have a healthy diet when it comes to fitness and losing weight. Re-Think your diet to include foods that will give you energy and keep you moving. In other words cut the fat, sugar, carbohydrates, and so on.

Also don’t drastically cut on calories to speed up weight loss, as it deprives your body of essentials vitamins and nutrients. The average women needs 1,800 calories per day. Now that you have all of the basics GET STARTED!
