The holidays are soon approaching and I’m excited to cherish the festivities with our little growing family. At the same time, I want to take initiative each year in participating in charities. In other words, I want Camilla to grow in a household where during the holidays we give to the less fortunate. With that being said, I want our family to be part of the Share Your Ears Movement. The Share Your Ears Movement is due to the celebration of 90 years of Mickey Mouse. The hope is to give life-changing wishes for those with critical illnesses. From November 4 to November 27, 2018, simply take a photo showing off your “Mickey Mouse ears” and upload it to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. For every public photo posted with #ShareYourEars, Disney will donate US $5 to Make-A-Wish®, and up to US $1 million to grant even more wishes. This is all part of the Disney Team of Heroes commitment to deliver comfort and inspiration to families around the world.
How to Cherish the Holidays with Your Family
- Establish holiday traditions: There is endless things to do during the holiday season it can be overwhelming. As a result, make it a point to start with the most meaningful activities. That way if you run out of time, you still accomplished the most important things. Our family traditions include but are not limited to driving around to see the lights, visiting Santa, and decorating our home.
- Holiday movie of the week: Don’t forget to throw in home movies throughout the season for a special treat. Set the mood with theme decorations and let the movie be the start of the show. Get some popcorn, get cozy, and watch your favorite movies as a family.
- Family photographs: As a matter of fact, holiday photographs is another way to bring all family members closer together. In our family we are starting a tradition to have our yearly photographs done around the holidays. As I believe it’s highly important to create memories each passing year.
As you can see, cherishing the holidays with your family can be quite easy. In my perspective, giving during the holidays is just as important as receiving. If your a parent I urge you to teach your kids to be kind and give to others this holiday season. In all honesty, the world needs more kindness and it all starts home. With that being said, find a tradition that fits your family needs the most. The way each year all family members can look forward to giving and sharing with others. At the moment, the Share Your Ears Movement is a great start.
